Phil Barth, Certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor
Phil began practicing yoga around 2002 while living in San Francisco, working as a technical support engineer. After practicing many different styles of yoga, and using this practice to help recover from and manage a repetitive motion injury, he began a journey into health and wellness. Phil became certified to teach Kundalini yoga in 2004 shortly after moving back to his home in Southern Indiana, and was the co-owner of Fire Horse Yoga, Massage, & Wellness from 2004-2008 with his wife, Dana Weidenbenner. His interest in yoga and healing foods led him to a career as a professional cook and chef working in traditional and health-supportive cooking. Phil gained a degree from the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts in New York City along this journey, and he continued his work in catering and personal chef services in San Diego, CA, while Dana was earning a degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. (Dana now owns and operates Jasper Acupuncture LLC). Phil has managed several catering and cooking operations in Southern California and Indiana, along with continuing his personal yoga practice. He has over 1000 hours of yoga teaching experience, and uses yoga as a tool to help ‘keep up.’ Phil and Dana have two children, and they live in downtown Jasper.
